This Caipiroska cocktail is a form of Caipirinha prepared with vodka instead of the usual cachaça. It is a very popular cocktail in Brazil and other latin countries. A classic Caipiroska is prepared with lime juice and dry vodka but with the addition of fruit or syrup you can prepare some great varieties! Like this refreshing Strawberry Caipiroska you can try adding slices of mango, banana or whatever fruit type you prefer!
For the Strawberry Caipiroska:
Ice crushed, enough to fill 2 glasses
Lime 1
Sugar cane, 6 teaspoons
Strawberries 12
Vodka 100 ml
Recipe:
Preparation:
Cut the lime in half as each half is needed for the base of 1 caipiroska cocktail. Cut off the top of the lime containing a tiny stem. Slice the halfs of the lime.
Cut the lime into squares without losing too much of the juice and place them in 2 old fashioned cocktail glasses.
Add 3 teaspoons of brown sugar to each glass and crush the lime cubes with a pestle while rotating to blend in the sugar.
Wash the strawberries and remove their stems. Cut the strawberries in half and add them to the glasses of crushed lime and sugar.
Crush and blend in the strawberries with the pestle. Coarsely chop the ice cubes and fill both glasses with the ice.
Then, pour 50 ml of vodka in each glass and stir with a long-stemmed spoon to mix all the ingredients and blend in the vodka.
Garnish the Strawberry Caipiroska with some fresh strawberries and a slice of lime!
Cooking Tips:
Add strawberry syrup for a sweeter Strawberry Caipiroska.
Replace the vodka with rum to prepare a Strawberry Caiprinha.
Prepare a Lime Caipiroska with 1 lime per cocktail and simply leave out the strawberries.
